Almost a month has passed since I came to India. This has definitely been one of the most enriching experiences in life. India has several poverty problems, but is full of spirituality. I can’t deny that it is hard to adapt to this so sudden change in life, but I always have believed that in the tough times is when one realizes what we are made off.
In India there are more than 4 millions of gods, and the people believe that this present life is a step or a karma to achieve a better life in the next reincarnation. This belief prompts that people always want to act with goodwill to have a better life in the next reincarnation. These are beliefs that I do not agree with, but that I totally respect.
During the last week Laura and I were organizing a social event with the hotel and a public school. Coconut Bay Beach Resort donated books to a public school in Kerala as part of their socially responsible projects they have. It was very rewarding to see big smiles on the kids when receiving the books. Being from a different culture was exciting for the kids. Since young age kids start developing a passion and curiosity for learning a different language, behaviors, and culture.
Definitely, some of the most amazing sites and people in the world can be found in poorer countries. During these past 4 weeks I have meet amazing people and experienced new ways of living. I value their differences as being both unique and intriguing to me.
